Did this cop take it too far? -- Greenville, SC

In Greenville, SC at a Wal-Mart on Whitehorse Rd on August 23rd, 2014 -- two cops were trying to subdue and arrest a customer. I do not know what he did to receive the interest of the cops. The suspect looks like he was going to be shot with a tazer gun and then all of a sudden the cops started to punch the suspect in the head. Eventually a 3rd police officer arrived and helped the other two flip the suspect over and then the same officer who punched the suspect in the head then moved around to the front of the suspect and put his whole weight on the suspect's head with his knee against the concrete floor.

The question is was this too much force? Why did they not tase the suspect and then subdue him while he was unable to fight? Why did they then move to assaulting the suspect? The situation in Ferguson, Missouri is still at a very high tension level. Maybe police officers all over the country need to learn that is not their job to dish out corporal punishment.

Should we have all Police brought to a Psychologist to decide if they still fit the bill for service of the public?
